Science fiction short story first published in Today (Philadelphia Enquirer), April 6 1952, and a revised version appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, November 1952. . It wasn't included in original version of the fix-up novel The Martian Chronicles (1950), but a UK edition in 1953 included the story and various editions from 1974 onwards have included it as the chapter titled May 2003/2034: The Wilderness.
