Know the differences between the classes of homelessness The "Signature Theory" of Eric Protein Moseley In a Feb. 3, 2022, Pacific Daily News letter, Eric Protein Moseley outlines his "signature theory" that categorizes the unhoused into three distinct classes based on hygiene, readiness for societal reintegration, specific living situations, along with the mindset as well. Moseley argues that addressing homelessness requires tailored, class-specific approaches rather than "one-size-fits-all" solutions, challenging officials to recognize these nuances to avoid harmful stereotypes. This theory is the culmination of years of experience and his advocacy. Moseley previously echoed these perspectives in his co produced 2008 PBS documentary, Down But Not Out. Produced in association with South Carolina ETV while Moseley was personally experiencing homelessness, the film captures the raw reality of Moseleys life in shelter systems and soup kitchens in Columbia, South Carolina, along with others experiencing simular but destinct situation. Beyond the film, Moseley—utilizing his 50-year AI musical persona, Protein the Past—as Eric, wrote and produced a song of the same title (Down But Not Out) several years later. By co-producing the documentary and leading the creation of the song, Moseley established himself as the "homeless filmmaker," using multi-media art to provide a firsthand look at the complexities of the unhoused experience often missed by mainstream media. This is now a part of the Coolest Cowboy Records/Empathy for AI Initiative. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2tETpO7IwcY&list=OLAK5uy_mNvZ0KYlxpv-wXCBD6l-d0Oe1J545wkc8&index=1&pp=8AUB https://www.pbs.org/video/carolina-stories-down-but-not-out/ https://www.guampdn.com/opinion/letter-know-the-differences-between-the-classes-of-homelessness/article_288825fc-8492-11ec-a512-cf48965d9753.html https://www.thecolumbiastar.com/articles/homeless-man-works-for-change-that-lasts/
