Short story first published in Rolling Stone #426/427, 19 July/2 August 1984, a special summer double issue. The story was later reworked as a sub-plot of The Tommyknockers. The story was included in a limited edition of the collection Skeleton Crew (1985) under the title Becka Paulson, and in the anthology I Shudder at Your Touch (1991), edited by Michele Slung, under its original title.
