Annotation
Descriptive embryology is recognised as a necessary and valuable part of courses in biology to G.C.E. 'A' Level and to first degrees; but students often experience difficulties in interpreting the embryological structures seen under the microscope. This book is intended to help overcome these difficulties, while at the same time summarising the descriptive embryology of frog and chick in sufficient detail for degree level.
It consists of photographs of sectioned and entire embryos of chick and frog with corresponding large detailed drawings on the facing pages.
Each slide was photographed through a microscope and shows a typical specimen, likely to be encountered by the student. The drawings were done directly from the specimens themselves independently of the photographs and, both in content and style, should be the ideal of the student and examination candidate.
